Our Story

HEIS Cakes — A Beginning

It all started at the tender age of 10 when our founder baked his first cake at a neighbour’s house. Hailing from the Culinary Capital of the Philippines, Pampanga, excellent food is always present even on simple occasions. It was these experiences that made Sam more interested in the world of food.

He started attending baking classes at age 16 both here and at the Henny Sison Culinary School where his passion for baking and cake decorating was further developed. What was thought to be a momentary experience has now grown into a life-long passion.

Mixing and pouring process

At the tertiary level, Sam took up a National Certificate in Baking, which gained him the necessary foundation to build on his skills for the ever-changing industry; he was awarded Best in Practical student for his advanced skills for a beginner. He later graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Management, which majored in Entrepreneurship.

Having excellent baking skills alone is insufficient to succeed in this field. He then worked in a bank and then a government ministry, he decided, together with a confirmation from the Lord, that it is time to shift gears and take his passion for baking to a whole new level..

What keeps Sam on his toes is the drive for excellence. "It is by having a Spirit of Excellence is what created these mouth-watering desserts we are known for today", he emphasised. Every recipe goes through numerous testings before they are released on the market. This is a lifelong commitment to our clients that every product that comes from Heis Kitchen Studio is not only a labour of love but a product of excellent standards.
